My Day in Vista, CA
I recently enjoyed a visit to Vista, CA, and it was such a charming, beautiful city. I lucked out as the weather was perfect for the outdoor activity I had planned. I did some research on the Vista Chamber of Commerce website prior to my visit, and I found a museum that peaked my interest.
The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum has been operating since 1976 and caters to young and old alike with their many exhibits that focus on the early life of America and how technology has evolved through the years. Their collection of steam engines and tractors are from the mid-1800’s straight through to the 1960’s. It was exciting to see the tractors and steam engines up close, and they even have a model train railroad exhibit, which was very entertaining.
I visited on a Saturday, which was perfect because there is plenty to do at the museum on the weekends. I was particularly interested in viewing the Palomar Handweavers Guild, where volunteers showcase their weaving and spinning on over 50 looms in their 4,000 square foot facility. It was so interesting to see the talented artists work their magic to create beautiful clothing and rugs. I may even plan another visit for October when they hold their annual Vista Fiber Arts Fiesta at the museum.
